Return and Refund Policy

 General Policy


Due to the specialized nature of security equipment and installation materials, all returns are subject to inspection and approval prior to refund or credit issuance. Many products sold by our company cannot be resold once opened, programmed, configured, or installed. We reserve the right to deny any return that does not meet the conditions outlined below.


Unopened Products


Unopened, unused, and undamaged products may be returned within 10 days of purchase and are subject to:


  • Inspection upon return
  • Approval by our company
  • Minimum 15% restocking fee (certain manufacturers may require a specific dollar amount that exceeds 15%)


Products must be returned in original packaging with all included accessories, manuals, hardware, and components.

Items showing damage, missing parts, altered packaging, or signs of use will be denied.


Installed or Opened Products


Any product that has been opened, installed, programmed, mounted, wired, activated, or otherwise put into service is considered non-new condition.


If an installed or opened product is inspected and determined by our company to still be reasonably resellable, a maximum refund of 50% of the original purchase price may be issued at our sole discretion. Products determined to be non-resellable are non-refundable.


This includes, but is not limited to:


  • Security cameras
  • Electric locks
  • Gate operators
  • Access control equipment
  • Network equipment
  • Power supplies
  • Control boards
  • Electronic devices
  • Special-order components

Installed Cable & Wiring


All installed cable, wiring, conduit, connectors, and related infrastructure materials are non-refundable once installed.

These materials become part of the building or structure upon installation and cannot be returned for credit or refund.

Custom & Special-Order Products


All custom-made, customized, programmed, fabricated, or special-order products are 100% non-refundable.


This includes:


  • 3D printed products
  • Custom brackets or mounts
  • Custom fabricated materials
  • Programmed electronic devices
  • Special-order equipment
  • Products modified specifically for a customer project


Labor & Installation Services


All labor, installation, programming, configuration, service calls, and onsite work are non-refundable once performed.


Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items


Customers must report damaged, defective, or incorrect items within 7 days of delivery and 15 business days of installation.


We may require:


  • Photos
  • Serial numbers
  • Inspections


Manufacturer warranty policies may apply in place of direct replacement or refund.


Return Authorization Required


No returns will be accepted without prior authorization.

Unauthorized returns may be refused and returned to the sender at the customer’s expense.


Final Determination


Our company reserves the sole right to determine:


  • Product condition
  • Resellability
  • Refund eligibility
  • Applicable restocking fees
  • Whether repair, replacement, store credit, or denial of return is appropriate

Terms and Conditions

Warranty Limitations


Voltedge Security warrants its workmanship and installation labor for a period of one (1) year from the date of project completion unless otherwise stated in writing. Manufacturer warranties on equipment, devices, and materials are limited solely to the warranties provided by the original manufacturer. Voltedge Security does not independently warrant third-party products or equipment beyond the manufacturer’s stated coverage.


This warranty does not cover:


  • Damage caused by misuse, abuse, negligence, vandalism, theft, accidents, environmental conditions, power surges, lightning, water intrusion, fire, or natural disasters.
  • Failures caused by customer-provided networks, internet service, electrical systems, third-party equipment.
  • Unauthorized modifications, repairs, programming changes, or tampering performed by parties other than Voltedge Security.
  • Normal wear and tear, cosmetic damage, or consumable items.
  • Service calls related to user error, network connectivity, password recovery, software updates, or changes made by third-party providers.
  • “Software licensing or cloud subscription renewals are not included under warranty.”
  • “Firmware updates may be billable unless specifically included in a service agreement.”


Warranty coverage becomes void if the system has been altered, relocated, serviced, or modified by anyone other than Voltedge Security without prior written approval.


Warranty service includes repair or replacement, at Voltedge Security’s discretion, of defective workmanship or covered equipment only. Warranty coverage does not include reimbursement for downtime, loss of business, loss of data, theft, property damage, personal injury, or any indirect or consequential damages.


Customers are responsible for maintaining stable internet connectivity, adequate power, and proper environmental conditions for all installed systems.

Any warranty claims must be submitted within the applicable warranty period and may require proof of purchase or original invoice documentation.


Customer-Provided Internet & Power


Customer is responsible for providing reliable high-speed internet service, adequate electrical power, and a properly functioning network environment for all systems requiring connectivity, including but not limited to surveillance cameras, access control systems, alarm systems, intercoms, and remote access services.


Voltedge Security is not responsible for system interruptions, reduced performance, offline devices, recording failures, notification failures, or remote access issues caused by internet outages, network limitations, router configurations, power loss, insufficient bandwidth, or third-party service providers.


Additional labor required to diagnose or correct customer network, internet, or electrical issues may be billed separately.


Permits & Inspections


Unless specifically stated in writing within the estimate or contract, permits, inspection fees, licensing fees, engineering fees, and authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements are not included in project pricing and remain the responsibility of the customer.

Any delays, additional labor, modifications, or costs resulting from permit requirements, failed inspections, code violations, or jurisdictional requirements may result in additional charges.


Concealed Conditions


Project pricing is based on visible and reasonably accessible job site conditions at the time of estimation. Voltedge Security is not responsible for unforeseen or concealed conditions including, but not limited to:


  • Hidden obstructions
  • Fire blocks
  • Structural limitations
  • Inaccessible ceiling spaces
  • Existing conduit restrictions
  • Unsafe conditions
  • Unknown utilities
  • Damaged or improperly installed existing wiring


If concealed conditions require additional labor, materials, equipment, or redesign, additional charges may apply and will be submitted as a change order.


Existing & Abandoned Equipment Disclaimer


Unless specifically listed within the project scope, Voltedge Security assumes no responsibility for the condition, functionality, compatibility, labeling, certification, or performance of any existing low-voltage cabling, conduit, devices, hardware, or infrastructure previously installed by others.

Reuse of existing wiring or infrastructure is performed without warranty unless otherwise stated in writing.

Voltedge Security is not responsible for abandoned equipment, undocumented wiring, hidden junctions, or pre-existing system deficiencies discovered during installation.


Scheduling, Project Delays & Cancellations


Estimated installation dates and completion timelines are subject to change based on material availability, project readiness, customer responsiveness, weather conditions, construction schedules, site accessibility, permitting delays, or delays caused by third parties.


Voltedge Security shall not be held liable for delays outside of its reasonable control.


If scheduled work cannot proceed due to site unavailability, unsafe working conditions, unprepared job conditions, lack of access, or delays caused by other contractors, additional trip charges, labor charges, or rescheduling fees may apply.


Voltedge Security reserves the right to delay, suspend, or cancel installations or ongoing work if job site conditions, customer conduct, safety concerns, code violations, hazardous environments, or customer requests conflict with company policies, safety standards, applicable laws, or these Terms & Conditions. Voltedge Security also reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service if customer actions are deemed abusive, threatening, fraudulent, or potentially damaging to the company’s reputation or personnel.


If a customer cancels a project prior to installation, any equipment or materials already ordered may be subject to manufacturer or distributor restocking fees, shipping charges, or non-refundable special-order costs. Any applicable restocking or cancellation fees will be deducted from refundable amounts.


If an ongoing project is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, customer actions, denied site access, project abandonment, or circumstances outside the reasonable control of Voltedge Security, the customer shall remain responsible for all labor performed, services rendered, and non-returnable materials purchased up to the cancellation date.


Voltedge Security will make reasonable efforts to return eligible unused products accepted by the supplier or manufacturer. Any approved refunds for returned products will be less applicable restocking fees, shipping charges, labor costs, and other incurred project expenses. Custom-ordered, programmed, licensed, configured, or special-order items may be non-refundable.


Sales Tax


Promotional pricing, discounts, advertisements, package pricing, and special offers may not include applicable sales taxes unless expressly stated otherwise. Applicable taxes will be calculated and added to the final project total before customer approval and signature. All taxes will be clearly displayed on the proposal, contract, estimate, or invoice prior to acceptance by the customer. Applicable sales taxes will be added to all products, services, materials, and equipment in accordance with all applicable federal, state, county, city, and local tax laws and regulations.


Customers claiming tax-exempt status must provide a valid and current tax exemption certificate prior to the issuance of a proposal, invoice, or commencement of work. Failure to provide appropriate documentation may result in applicable taxes being charged.


Sales tax rates may vary based on the project location and applicable taxing authorities. Any tax amounts shown on proposals, invoices, or contracts are estimates based on the information available at the time of preparation and may be adjusted as required by law.



Collections & Legal Fees


Customer agrees to pay all costs associated with collection of unpaid balances, including but not limited to collection agency fees, court costs, lien filing fees, attorney fees, and accrued interest as permitted by applicable law.


Voltedge Security reserves the right to suspend ongoing work, disable remote services where legally permitted, withhold project deliverables, or pursue legal remedies until all outstanding balances have been paid in full.


Ownership of Equipment


All equipment, materials, software licenses, credentials, programming, and installed systems shall remain the property of Voltedge Security until the invoice has been paid in full.


Voltedge Security reserves the right to withhold administrative credentials, programming access, cloud transfers, or final system turnover until payment obligations have been satisfied.

Failure to remit payment may result in removal of equipment where legally permitted.


Network & Cybersecurity Disclaimer


While reasonable efforts are made to configure systems securely, Voltedge Security does not guarantee protection against cyberattacks, hacking, unauthorized access, ransomware, data breaches, or vulnerabilities originating from third-party software, customer networks, cloud services, or internet-connected devices.


The customer is solely responsible for maintaining secure passwords, user access management, firewall protection, software updates, antivirus protection, and network security practices.


Voltedge Security is not liable for damages, losses, or unauthorized access resulting from compromised credentials, unsecured networks, third-party software vulnerabilities, or customer negligence.


Data Loss & Security Limitation


Security, surveillance, alarm, and access control systems are intended to reduce risk and improve monitoring capabilities; however, no system can guarantee prevention of theft, intrusion, vandalism, property damage, personal injury, data loss, or criminal activity.


Voltedge Security makes no guarantee that installed systems will operate uninterrupted or error-free under all conditions.


Customers acknowledge that electronic systems may fail due to power outages, internet failures, equipment malfunction, environmental conditions, user error, software limitations, or criminal tampering.


Voltedge Security shall not be held liable for incidental, indirect, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising from system performance, failure, downtime, or inability to capture, store, or transmit data or events.
